The point I'm making is we already have it. (Air superiority)

We do not need to build the new next generation fighter jets. They are nothing more than a waste and are vulnerable to cyber exploitation.
Why would it be a waste to maintain air superiority and protect our ground troops?

Because in my opinion we are already so superior that it will take the rest of the world 20 years to catch up, and that's if they even bother to try, which they probably will not.

Our recent fighter jet programs have all shown themselves to be huge wastes of money and resources that would've been better spent on systems and programs to prepare for the types of conflict we will be likely to face in the future.

There's a couple of interesting podcasts that deal with this subject if you'd like to dig into your question further and you want a recommendation. I can also point you toward some military think tank papers and articles as well.

Is this your West Point training expert opinion?

Oddly enough, actually it is, in a way.

I mean, not mine personally, but the opinion of some of those who went to and have or currently do instruct at West Point and the equivalent. And even more importantly the opinion of some of those in the Pentagon and think tanks who fund and develop the strategy of the institutions that train our future military leaders.

Do you want some links or are you all set thinking you know what's up already? Because I'm not gonna bother to gather and post them if you're not gonna bother to read the papers and/or listen to the podcasts.

As a ground pounder I enjoyed having that bird protecting my six.
