Not news doofus ... it's history. SMH
Made up history. The Louisiana purchase was done through a treaty ratified by both congressional houses. It passed the senate 24 to 7. The House authorized the spending to fund it. “They” didn’t laugh at Jefferson. You’re correct in that it’s history, your made up story isn’t borne out with the facts however.

Not sure why anyone would want Greenland but recent history:
The U.S. chose the name "Virgin Islands" when it took formal possession of the Danish West Indies on March 31, 1917. The U.S. bought the islands from Denmark for $25 million. The island chain consists of St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. John, and about 50 other small islands, most of which are uninhabited.

You're such a stup! Did you finish high school?
An easy Google search brings up dozens of newspaper articles against the purchase.
Even Jefferson was not sure he should do it.

Cons of Louisiana Purchase
At the time Thomas Jefferson’s purchase was frowned upon because it put the
nation in debt and the country would be hard to govern if it was too big. Also, different
areas in the US thought they would lose support or become less represented. The Louisiana
Purchase was a big controversy back in its time that led to further decisions in the future
for America.

The Louisiana Purchase was considered a controversy because some people
did not think Jefferson should have made the deal in the first place.
Thomas Jefferson made the purchase that ended up not
helping the nation at the time.
Jefferson disliked the idea of purchasing Louisiana from France, as that could imply
that France had a right to be in Louisiana. Jefferson believed that a U.S. President did not
have the authority to make such a deal: it was not specified in the Constitution. Jefferson
first bought New Orleans to help the farmers in the west for 7.5 million dollars.
He then bought all of Louisiana for 15 million dollars.

Note: An online collection of newspapers, such as GenealogyBank’s Historical Newspaper Archives, is not only a great way to learn about the lives of your ancestors – the old newspaper articles also help you understand American history and the times your ancestors lived in, and the news they talked about and read in their local papers.

So there was a debate about it at the time. WDFD, the final decision was made with overwhelming support by everyone in power. Again “they” didn’t laugh at Jefferson and you can’t prove “they” did. You’re just making up stuff to make Trump look less idiotic. It’s sad.

I dunno, here’s a couple of historical cartoons ridiculing Jefferson for the Louisiana Purchase.

“They” was never defined. You assumed.

And we all know what assume does.

You guys are so gullible, eat up anything you heard in a fifth grade history class and never question it. The nation doubled in size, of course there was debate, but Jefferson won that debate. Show me any real support for Trump buying Greenland and I’ll agree it’s even remotely a similar situation.
