Boxing Day is Dec. 26th this year.

The origin of this holiday's name is not clear. In feudal times in the United Kingdom, the lord of the manor would 'pay' people who worked on his land in the past year with boxes practical goods, such as agricultural tools, food and cloth. These were often distributed on the day after Christmas Day. More recently, employers traditionally gave their servants a gift of money or food in a small box on the day after Christmas Day. Some people in Canada still give gifts to people who provide them with services.

Other stories relate to servants being allowed to take a portion of the food left over from the Christmas celebrations in a box to their families and the distribution of alms from the church collection boxes to poor parishioners. These traditions evolved into the Christmas baskets that some employers distribute to their employees during the holiday season at the end of the year.

Boxing Day is a Stat Hoilday here (the day after xmas -Dec 26th).
It's very comparable to your Black Friday after Thanks-Giving.

Boxing Day blow-out sales (what didn't sell for xmas, everything goes on sale). It's the biggest shopping day in Canada (a mad house at all malls).

All in all, Canada enjoys 2 days off work for xmas (being Dec25th and 26th both National Holidays), plus usually just a half days work on xmas eve.

I read that it is a tradition that is hundred and hundred of years old that originated in England. Funny a lot of the original traditions of Europe are here in the US, but not that one.

That's because we give the 'service' people Christmas gifts and don't wait 'til the day after to give them "leftovers".

The company adopted the name LEGO in 1934. Until 1949, the LEGO company primarily produced wooden toys, though modern LEGO toys are made from plastic

Hmmm Searched and found this:
Why Are LEGOs So Expensive? - DailyFinance

Lego bricks and minifigures (to use the official term for the tiny yellow mannequins that represent humanity in the world of Lego toys) are made by the LEGO Group, a privately held company headquartered in Billund, Denmark. Founded in 1932 by a carpenter named Ole Kirk Christiansen, the LEGO Group "has passed from father to son and is now owned by Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, a grandchild of the founder," according to the company website. Despite being private and family-controlled, the LEGO Group is the third-largest toy manufacturer by sales, behind Mattel, and Hasbro, and ahead of Japanese giants Bandai-Namco and Takara Tomy.

One of the most common criticisms of Barbie is that she promotes an unrealistic idea of body image for a young woman, leading to a risk that girls who attempt to emulate her will become anorexic. A standard Barbie doll is 11.5 inches tall, giving a height of 5 feet 9 inches at 1/6 scale. Barbie's vital statistics have been estimated at 36 inches (chest), 18 inches (waist) and 33 inches (hips). At 5'9" tall and weighing 110 lbs, Barbie would have a BMI of 16.24 and fit the weight criteria for anorexia. According to research by the University Central Hospital in Helsinki, Finland, she would lack the 17 to 22 percent body fat required for a woman to menstruate. In 1963, the outfit "Barbie Baby-Sits" came with a book entitled How to Lose Weight which advised: "Don't eat!." The same book was included in another ensemble called "Slumber Party" in 1965 along with a pink bathroom scale permanently set at 110 lbs., which would be around 35 lbs. underweight for a woman 5 feet 9 inches tall.
