Yep, you got it.
Taxes may have gone down but the deficit went up as well as the State and National % of National GNP.
As a former engineer, I would think it would be easy for you to figure out that when the GOP cuts taxes, it INCREASES the deficits. Reagan, Bush1, Bush2 cut taxes and all three drove the deficit to levels UNSEEN in america, yet, you want to blame OBAMA for putting america first and starting a recovery that has gone extremely well in 5 years.
As the GOP rallies for corporations to leave the USA and go overseas to avoid paying a decent wage to an american worker, the revenue lost as workers no longer have a job to deduct taxes from hurts the local, state and federal treasuries.
This is what causes deficits, yet you want to blame everything other than the cause.
Time for a reality check bro.

Neither party is worth our trust. Only a few individuals scattered here and there. We meed more independents and small party types such as tea party on congress to break the choke hold that the two major parties have. BTW, I don't endorse the tea party either, just a few of the individuals

NO! SPENDING causes deficits. Jeezzz ... most 6th graders understand that if you have a dollar and something cost a $1.50, they have to hit mom/dad for $0.50 ... except we are hitting up our kids.

I do know the economy has done better with Democrat presidents and they have done their best with a Democrat President and a Republican Congress.
As for your image, it is a bit misleading because what is really relevant is net jobs.
More jobs have been lost while Democrats have been in office than when Repubs have been in office.
