Having one hand on the handrail is not a TRUE 3 points of contact. With one hand on the handrail, when you lift your foot to place it on the next surface(step) you have only two points contacting surfaces(1 hand and one foot). A TRUE 3 points of contact requires 2 hands on the handrail at all times
