Does anyone ever read the contract or go to a union meeting?

This is how I look at the lack of knowledge and very low participation. We as employees applied for a job with UPS, not the Union. Being a teamster is a byproduct of working here, we don't have a choice unless your in one of those areas that do, RTW.

I have lost count of the long time employees who have stopped and asked me about parts of the contract.
They have more than enough stewards where I am.

Nope and nope.

Should chill on your general blanket statements. UPS will definitely be running operations on the 2nd, can't speak for the 26th yet, just because your center won't be doesn't make "nope" an acceptable answer when it was a general question of "is ups working".

I actually thought he meant as a UPS operating day and the days in question are not UPS operating days per ups.com.

Yes.

We get the 26th and 2nd off as paid holidays.

We get an additional day's pay for NYE because it falls on a Saturday.

Thank your union for that.
