If we should bomb Syrians for bombing other Syrians, who should have bombed the US when Americans bombed Americans in Oklahoma City?
I believe we captured and prosecuted the people who bombed that building in Oklahoma City.
Not quite the same scenario in Syria.

He sent the Russians a message all right, warning them of the impending attack hours before the missiles were launched. One would have to be a complete idiot to believe that they did not pass that message along to their Syrian allies. Trump spend over $100 million to blow a few holes in a runway that was in operation again the following day. His "message" was directed at the American people and it was nothing but an attempt to restore his tanking ratings by pretending to act tough.
You got the gist but it was a warning shot across the bow of Syria, Iran and North Korea and to any other country's leader that thinks it's the continuing weakness of the Obama era.

That was the weakest warning shot I've seen. Assad was back using the same airfield and bombing the same city. Talk about weak.

As long as he calls Putin first.
He repeatedly gave them 60-90 minutes to evacuate. Had we blown up many Russians it would have been ugly. Especially since the last loser we had in office let them buzz over our military ship's bows several times without a response besides waving his underwear on a stick at them.
If Reagan was potus there wouldn't have been any of that goading going on. If so, there would've been pieces of jets littering the water after the first provocation.

He called first. Lol
You don't really want to bomb Russian soldiers in Syria in this conflict.
Warning them was a professional issue even if it was an hour ahead.
If the Russian aircraft would be involved with dropping sarin gas (or equivalent) there would've been more discussion including congress on the remedy for that.
Bombing Syria is different than bombing Russian military when it comes to the ability to respond and the ramifications of that response.

Why did the American Military take precautions to prevent “fanciful” impossibilities?

So if ISIS truly is a threat to us, why are we bombing the government that is fighting them?

We cant pick both sides in a war.

you know the answer you chose to ignore it.

We bombed because he crossed the line and deployed a weapon of mass destruction several times on innocent victims. We may want him to help us defeat ISIS but not by looking the other way when he does something so heinous.

may you're really trying to play stupid today. sending them a message does not mean we have to kill their troops.

Probably the most telling fact in this entire mess is that Assad waited almost 4 years...until 3 months after Obama was gone and Trump had taken over...to resume the use of chemical weapons.
That is not a coincidence. I suspect Trump's incessant Twitter rants imploring Obama to not attack Syria may have played a role in Assad's thinking.

actually the agreement to not use chemical weapons was negotiated in 2015 with the Russians as intermediaries. Not that the facts mean anything on this thread.
