If you do not pay taxes on overtime earnings, what's not to stop folk, particularly small businesses from paying themselves a small wage with giant overtime provisions?

Obviously new tax code would need to be written, excluding just such a thing.

Personally, I would rather have a flat tax or consumption tax and be done with all of filing of taxes, yearly.

It will never happen because it’s an industry itself

I wonder if the founding fathers ever expected tax code to be so complicated the regular people couldn’t even understand it completely without some sort of representation to guard yourself from the government?

I think it’s been established that there is another segment of pay that wouldn’t e taxed. Something the wealthy are interested in.

I hate to agree with him but I do lol. I worry if taxes aren’t tipped it will only greater incentivize companies to encourage tipping and pay less wages, and the tax system in America is already out of control

I went to some coffee shop (to buy a thc drink) the lady hands me the can and flips the computer screen around to give me an option of tip selections. She literally grabbed the can and handed it to me.

I swear too I feel like she rolled her eyes and scoffed when I selected 0

Im sorry but I’m not going to subsidize workers wages because the corporations are greedy and don’t pay them enough.

Waiters and waitresses deserve tips, all the rest of these people asking for a tip for everything is out of control!

Yup Yea why does Starbucks deserve a tip but not Burger King?

Fundamentally I don’t think waiters should get tips, they should get paid a decent wage like in other countries. But seems like most waiters disagree and they prefer the tips. I imagine the same with bartenders too even more so lol
