Two entirely different issues.

I do not see this tax free overtime thing going anywhere. Are Democrats for this? That hate high earners.
I don’t I don’t believe they’re different issues at all. There’s all kinds of different tax rates even for something like a bonus And I don’t believe the Democrats are For and I’m not even certain they need their votes. The discussion of getting rid of taxes for overtime and tips has spured the discussion of getting rid of the federal tax income payroll altogether..

The federal payroll income tax is burdensome and kills peoples desire to be more productive because why work more hours when they’re just going to take it in taxes? Getting rid of it would be a boon to productivity.

Only about 8 percent of hourly workers collect regular FSLA-qualified overtime.

Yep, doesn’t look like Supervisor will be enjoying any tax-free overtime lol.
Like I said, the idea behind stopping tax on overtime has spurred the bigger issue to me. I don’t really care about the tax on overtime. Seems like it would be complicated to even enforce.

The salaried employees that don't get overtime will be against it.

I'm all for a flat tax. Makes total sense to me. The problem with it is politicians view tax rates as a tool for their own power.

They would definitely pull some shenanigans for sure I agree.
Anyone in business would be a fool not to restructure so you become an hourly employee. No always possible though if you go by FLSA rules.
