this article speaks about the toxic culture inside the army as america (and to a lesser extent other western countries) terrorize the world. they mention suicides in the army due to the toxic culture (hazing, etc). i wonder how many die every year because of that:

The military beats empathy out of you. It makes you callous.”

He watched as the Rangers separated terrified men, women and children, treating them “as if they were animals.” The Rangers spoke of the Afghans as subhumans, dismissing them as “hajjis” and “:censored2:s.”...

“A lot of the guys would say, ‘I want to go out every night and kill people,’ ” he told me. “The Rangers are about hyper-masculinity, misogyny, racism, and a hatred of other cultures.”

His platoon sergeant had the hammer of Thor, a popular symbol among white supremacists, tattooed on his arm. The sergeant told new Rangers that if they saw something that upset them and wanted to speak out about it they were “in the wrong :censored2:ing place.”

75th Ranger Regiment

Recognizing that I volunteered as a ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of my ranger regiment.

Acknowledging the fact that a ranger is a more elite soldier, who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a ranger, my country expects me to move further, faster, and fight harder than any other soldier.

Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong, and morally straight, and I will shoulder more than my share of the task, whatever it may be, one hundred percent and then some.

Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress, and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.

Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.

Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission, though I am the lone survivor.

RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!

Glad we have them. Thank you for your service to all who have served and HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!

if you actually cared about them, then learn about why they are in war, what what the government is doing to them, and then do something about it instead of spouting off empty patriotic garbage.

I don't agree with every military conflict. But I will never step on our hard working military men & women.

And we know how much you care about the U.S. military.
yea i dont want soldiers fighting immoral wars, enduring toxic military cultures, and being thrown out with the trash if they survive.

big government is not soldiers friend.

the problem with constantly cheer leading for your country is you stop seeing whats wrong with it.

It seems to me the bigger threat to our everyday lives is the American terrorists. You know the ones that shoot up movie theaters, schools, shopping malls etc. They represent a much bigger danger to the general public then some extremists on the other side of the world.
Seems the media won’t label a terrorist as being anything other than a foreigner. You’re spot on...again!
