The 2024 Presidential Race Thread

Fred's Myth

Nonhyphenated American
America is already great.

Do you realize whatever we do to punish foreign companies from doing partial business in America will result in retaliation by other countries? Do you realize that American companies do PLENTY of business overseas in the way MB does here? Did you think through what effect that will have on workers here for those same companies? Their pensions? All of THEIR b2b customers? Our stock and bond markets and 401k accounts?

Of course you didn’t.

Because it’s not a serious proposal. It’s a reversal of all the gains of competitive advantage in the global economy making our lives easier and wealthier.
Creating billionaires overseas, while bribing the current administration to open our borders to illegal, low-wage workers, at the expense of American workers (and their unions).

If he does this it will destroy jobs and cause a shortage in the goods he wants to make more affordable. Pretty simple law of supply/demand. There’s no free lunch except diversification in economics.

No, the auto workers are Germans. What you are referring to in America are assemblers. Big difference.

Try being informed.
… you think Ford truck assemblers do anything different?

You think that any car plant builds every component at that single plant and then assembles the car right there? That’s cute.

That’s a list of a lot of things that she didn’t do and she’s in office now, 😂 she picked your pocket raised your grocery prices, car prices, home prices And all you can do is beg for more. You’re literally looking in a mirror when you talk about Donald Trump. They’re both pandering and they both have had broken promises.

This is more a lesson of what happens when you consider the federal government to be your daddy, prepare for disappointment.
I’m better off now than ever before. Look at the Commerce Dept. data. It’s all right there to compare. You’re stuck in the right-wing spin zone.

What does that even mean, did the commerce dept cut you a check?

You state you're better off, then you point to macro figures that have nothing to do with you

How are YOU better off? I'm betting you basically just mean the stock market, which I mean yeah it's pumping up for the holiday season ATM before it dumps in Feb like usual

I’m gainfully employed like 95+% of Americans who want a job. My 401k is looking sweet.

If you’re sooooo sure that the markets will drop before Feb why don’t you sell. Go ahead, time the market. Let us know how it goes.

Full employment. 2.5% inflation. Wage growth caught up to inflation. Falling interest rates. Stock markets smashing records.

We’ve left our peer countries in the dust economically.

Thanks Biden and Harris!
So disconnected from reality, it’s no wonder you believe the things you believe. If you think breaking the economy and then pretending it’s fixed is going to win voters I think you’re confused. The majority of Americans are struggling. The vast majority of Americans could care less about the stock market. They care more about the grocery market. And The housing market. The car market. Maybe they are misguided, but you can also think the federal government for our poorly educated population.

This is why despite your best efforts this race is even close. One side has drug a candidate through the mud for the last six years and it didn’t work. There’s a better than average chance that he’s gonna win.

I lay the blame squarely on people like you. Almost 4 years we lived with the candidate who barely could form a cognitive sentence, but you pretended he was just fine. Now because people like you live in a fantasy world, we might be stuck with the candidate even worse. Congratulations.

Make no mistake Washington DC is not giving us their best. And that is because people like you vote for the letter behind the name. Partisan Politics is destroying the working class and our country..

I’ve never made a statement on voting for anyone. The only people who know who I vote for is me and my wife. So It’s not your business.

Unlike you and not worried about endorsements nor the letter behind someone’s name. My opinion is only my own.

Wages of the bottom 50% of earners have exceeded the rate of growth of the top 50%.

Inflation was rough but we have to keep in mind that it was a global phenomenon. We're experiencing the elusive soft landing as we speak.

I'm going to stick with Democrats who want to defend democracy as an American concept. We can survive a bout of inflation or less than optimal policy on this or that but we won't survive if we dump democracy and the rule of law.

Got it. You never vote for a Dem "because people like you vote for the letter behind the name."

Sure, I’m certain you’re talking about yourself. Don’t you have some more plagiarizing to do? Not an original thought in your head.

How many yard signs do you have in your yard? I bet you think that’s gonna change someone’s mind L O L..
