a company that factors in pollution might be considering the long term consequences of pollution on its ability to generate profits.Why would a company pay to produce and air an ad thats on its own product? That wouldn't be very rational thing for it to do.
Why would buying a luxury and/or large SUV rather than a sedan be an inherently irrational decision? If I'm able to get from point A to B in a Honda Civic am I being irrational if I buy a Mercedes SUV?

I think we've got two very different ideas of what the word "rational" means. In your conception of it you try to use the word as a tool to encapsulate your personal political ideology. The end product is.....not great.

The correct answer is no.
