The Express employee massacre continues.

I personally think we’re all going to be shocked by how many express drivers take ground jobs. Majority of them aren’t qualified to do anything else.
I wouldn't say that they're unqualified to do anything else because in the end they'll find their place in the economy. At the same time however for many of them this is the only work they know. That in turn will make the adjustment that much more difficult.

Most likely these are "In addition to" the Express closings. but I have also heard that Freight and Express are merging some trucking locations.
Haven’t heard that one yet. Raj has made it clear that freight is a standalone company, don’t want to loose the rla.

FedEx freight is a combination of trucking companies with many terminals, many are ancient , combining or closing 29 locations across the country is small. Closing Express will include hundreds of stations all going to Ground in my opinion. As for Express heavyweight combining with Freight not likely, Freight has appointments and regular deliveries and pickups. Express heavyweight is more just delivering as needed and all on call pickups, no regulars. Express heavyweight needs help with every customer contact.

So you think the contractor model will be successful
No, I think eventually the whole things gonna go up in smoke.
After they piss enough people off not making commitments and can’t find anybody to work as hard as they are going to have to to be profitable for what they wanna pay. Looks to me like the blokes running the place have no real plan at least one that makes any sense. Right now they are just throwing :censored2: against a wall and see what sticks

Franchise have rights, Ground is a 1 year contract.
Idk, they both own their own business, have their own employees, use the corporation’s name and equipment, sell the corporation’s product. I see a lot more similarities than differences.

They provide a product, hamburgers, etc.. if they make a :censored2:ty hamburger they go out of business. FedEx provides a service and when the service sucks…..Ttku

Spencer Patton floated the idea of Ground becoming franchises rather than contractors. Didn’t go over well.

Raj is from a third-world country with a surplus of cheap, disposable labor.

Raj and FedEx seems very confident that they will find that in abundance here as well.

There's plenty of stooge labor coming over our border for quite awhile now.

Coincidence?

LMFAO!

Market action today and in the afterhours indicates that a fairly major economic slow down is coming soon. Margins will be compressed and inventories kept to a minimum, As a result there will be very little patience or tolerance when it comes to missed pickups and late deliveries. Fat Freddy and Raj are playing with fire.

Kind of like what Yorky said to JoJo....."Definitely not a good time to be a Nazi" Might not be a good time to be tearing your company apart as well.
