So we’re increasing government spending while cutting taxes for the rich and also increasing cost to consumers?

The $150 billion increase from $850 billion to $1 trillion would likely fund:
  • Border Security: Hegseth prioritizes military operations at the U.S.-Mexico border. Current troop deployments cost about $2 billion annually, but expanded efforts (e.g., infrastructure, tech) could take $10-15 billion of the increase.
  • Indo-Pacific Focus: Enhanced U.S. Indo-Pacific Command funding for submarines and drones, key to countering China, might account for $20-30 billion.
  • Missile Defense: An “Iron Dome for America” could cost $50-100 billion annually if fully pursued, potentially absorbing most of the increase.
  • Nuclear Modernization and Drones: Additional investments in nuclear weapons and autonomous systems could claim $20-30 billion.

Trump did say Taiwan is “none of his business”

But who knows man

Just unbelievable we’re increasing government spending by such an absurd amount, and on the military, in addition to cutting taxes while increasing tariffs for consumers

This could :censored2: us so badly

On the other hand though, one thing that didn’t get talked about a whole lot because got overshadowed by the tariff nonsense, but included in the list of countries getting hit by tariffs was “Taiwan”

So the U.S. kind of just officially called Taiwan a country of its own, which would normally kind of be a big deal
