What do you mean. Our Local kept my strike check to pay Union dues that month. How did they do that ?

Right I never saw a check and when asked about it was told it went to pay dues.Sounds like they never actually issued the checks to their members because, if they had, each would have had to sign them back over to the local and I don't see that happening.

What you mean is your local diverted the funds that would have been used to issue those checks toward union dues. The actual checks were never cut/issued.
If the Local didn't have any evidence, of someone being on strike duty....
They didn't cut a check.
My Local was very meticulous, in documenting it.
Why give money, to someone who won't stand on the strike line ??

I think you missed the point.
His local, rather than cut strike checks, kept the money for union dues instead
His local, rather than cut strike checks, kept the money for union dues instead, regardless of you manned the picket line or not.
All I know is I did not receive a strike check, and yes I did do picket duty, and was told it was used to pay Union dues for that month.Um.... I don't think I did.

The strike fund is a joke. Never enough in it to be much use.
They didn't even give us a chance to. The fix is in. Impasse. I declare BS.When Carey was president.... Yep.
Striking, over contractual issues is a last resort.... when you lack the ability to negotiate.
And, lets face it....
UPS Teamsters will never have the "guts" to do it again.
