Yesterday was just a “soft launch” we were told. Shooting for mid July implementation.
Of course they are. We’ve only known about this for how many months and we still don’t have enough drivers or trucks to come anywhere close to giving people the paid day they want.

Re the total service lingo, we have non union drivers (managers?) coming in from other states to run routes now. This week I noticed mgmt started referring to them as “total service providers”. Is total service provider an actual thing, or just a new bs ups euphemism for something we already had, or has anything to do with “total service plan”? Maybe my manager is just an idiot. Sometimes my manager accidentally calls them PVDs also. Please don’t be mean, I am a preloader, I can’t read. Thank you.

We had two PT Sups (both were prior 22.4 drivers who constantly bumped into reload and didn't drive much for months after peak and before vacation season) driving until a 22.3 driver found out they were now a sup and no longer a driver.
He filled--and is paying the price by about a half-hour per day. So management stated pulling all available 22.4's and requiring them to work instead (but they still don't have a posted schedule a week ahead and are too scared to grieve it). However, this pulled from the understaffed reload shift (and presumably preload too). Now reload has the same PT Sups doing work as they can't get new hires to show up or stay on the shift. It's a circle of management working every shift until the grievances become costly: that is the total service plan.

We had drivers leave and some went out on disability. There is a forever listing on jobs site for driver. No new ones hired off street. We were borrowing drivers from other centers, then that stopped (assuming bc summer vacations started) and had to borrow FT sups instead to drive. Now we are getting these “total service providers” who come up for the week from out of state so far they are M-Thurs then we borrow the FT sups from other facilities in state on Fridays.
