It’s ok to acknowledge people. History is better when not washed.
It isn’t just “acknowledging people” in a general well-socialized sense. Land acknowledgments are now used as a sort of Democratic pledge of allegiance. And that’s really stupid.
It has to be since it's the total opposite of the outcome he thought it would be.

Just think this morning the stock market was going to crash, the prices of everything was going to go through the roof, oil was going to go up and our gas was going to cost more, the USA was alienating its allies, Canada was going to put tariffs on us, Mexico was going to put tariffs on us. Both countries were going to quit selling our products, but then by this afternoon every one of these problems the MSM were panicking over just disappeared thanks to great leadership.

Why do leftists believe Trump "caved"? Mexico and Canada both made substantial concessions on border and immigration enforcement.

Canada had announced its $1.3 billion border and immigration investment at the end of last year.
Canada already had these plans implemented.

Why would Mexico be deploying 10,000 troops if they've already deployed 10,000 troops? Or does this bring the Mexican troop total to 20,000?

That's ridiculous. Take a good look at Trump. You'll see what patriotism looks like. He's no dictator. The Left is willing to completely ignore the Constitution and when we get a president who upholds the Constitution the Left screams dictatorship. Is that enough of an idea for you?
Saving face? On what? He enacted tariffs and they backed down. Exactly what does he have to save face on?
