Trump Tariffs has Countries ready to retaliate?

I have no problem giving Trump credit, I’ve done it before, even during this current administration

But Trump put the tarrifs in. He said “there is nothing Canada and Mexico can do to stop it.” Then Canada and Mexico go “ok we’ll put ours in too”. Then they have a meeting and Trump takes his off, so Canada and Mexico take out there’s after (hence retaliatory), and that’s it. But as of now nothing has changed. It’s in writing. Canada had this planned, and Mexico is putting in 10,000 guards which they did already with Biden in 2021. Their guards might even be less useful since Trump has our people down there also anyways, they’d probably be better off at their southern border, but we’ll see

Speaking of border, Whatsup with the wall? Is he going to finish that?
Lie.
Again.

Baloney. Canada and Mexico never put in tariffs after threatening too. They backed down. Mexico didn't stop the border crossings in 2021 or any time since. And when was Canada supposed to implement their plan? Geez man, we had 12 million+ people come across our southern border in four years. We had thousands of violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants including rape and murder. We caught terrorists in other parts of the country who came through the southern border. Just how bad does it have to be before the Left stops trying to spin Biden's border policies into something positive?

They backed down because Trump didn’t implement them. You said it yourself. Retaliatory. If Trump didn’t put the tarrifs in, they have nothing to retaliate against

This from 2024. It was set to be put in place. Nothing changed

But it seems like that lack of sympathy changes when it comes to America conquering the natives
I'm part Cherokee and proud of it. But the Europeans conquering the Americas was warfare just as the Israelis conquering Palestine was warfare. The U.S. did set aside reservations and provided benefits. The Israelis did the same. Native Americans integrated into modern America. Many Muslims have done the same in Israel. But some refuse to. And think they can brutalize their way into control. It's the wrong path.

Right, but would you say it’s hard to have sympathy for Americans if native Americans started war with us today over it?

Trump signed the executive order on tariffs on Saturday. They were implemented. Canada and Mexico threatened to retaliate then backed off. Mexico was not keeping the masses from coming here. Combination of Texas shutting down the border and Trump saying he'll start deportations immediately after his inauguration that slowed attempted crossings down to a tiny trickle. The focus of the tariffs for Mexico was stopping the flow of drugs across the border, especially fentanyl. And your Canadian link said $1.3 billion in December. After Try death talked with.Trump Sunday he announced a $1.6 billion dollar pkg. Trump got what he wanted.

Another article about Mexico's southern border.

Yet you keep lying that Mexico was putting troops at their northern border.

@vantexan I’m sorry man but you’re just wrong on this one
Trump signed the executive order on tariffs on Saturday. They were implemented.
They were not. They were set to be put in place Tuesday

“That would pause 25% tariffs due to take effect on Tuesday for 30 days.”

Canada and Mexico threatened to retaliate then backed off.
They backed off because the tarrifs are paused. RETALIATORY tarrifs. There is nothing to retaliate against, the tarrifs they were retaliating against are now paused
And your Canadian link said $1.3 billion in December. After Try death talked with.Trump Sunday he announced a $1.6 billion dollar pkg. Trump got what he wanted.
No, it’s still the original 1.3, not 1.6. It is the same plan that was set in place in 2024

Sure wouldn't. There are more Americans with mixed European and Native American heritage than those who are full blooded. Most claim Christianity. What happened before happened before. It's over. But fundamentalist Muslims believe it's their right to dominate nonbelievers. And can't tolerate nonbelievers being in a position of dominance over them. That's at the root of the Israel/Gaza problem and it's never going away. The Left keeps having sympathy for the Palestinians but shows no sympathy for the Christian Lebanese pushed off their lands in the last century next door in Lebanon. Not a matter of them learning to live with the conquerors because the Muslims continue to treat Christians in Lebanon as second class citizens. Most have left for other countries. And the Left has no sympathy because most hate Christianity. So lets not pretend it's cut and dried in Israel that the Palestinians have been greatly wronged.

OK, you're splitting hairs. Trump SIGNED the order Saturday. When they kicked in is irrelevant. They were announced and Mexico and Canada said they would retaliate. Then after they talked to Trump they agreed to do what Trump asked and said they wouldn't retaliate and Trump put the tariffs on hold for one month. What you can't seem to grasp is Canada and Mexico didn't start this with us. Trump started it because the status quo was unacceptable. And he's getting his way on our behalf. Hang on to your hat, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

ok well what trump asked for was conveniently what they were going to do anyways

I showed you that Canada announced this plan in 2024. I showed you it’s still the $1.3, not $1.6.

You could make an argument about Mexico, although they had the same amount of troops, 10,000 already with Biden. They probably would have been better of at their southern border since we have troops at our border and Trump says it’s secured now, but ok sure. But really not seeing what you’re arguing with what he got out with Canada

You showed a plan from December for $1.3 billion. Just announced Canada will spend $1.6 billion.

You keep wanting to say Mexico has 10,000 troops on the Mexican border securing it. If they do they've done a :censored2:ty job.

“ The Biden administration has struck an agreement with Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala to temporarily surge security forces to their borders in an effort to reduce the tide of migration to the U.S. border.”

“According to White House press secretary Jen Psaki, Mexico will maintain a deployment of about 10,000 troops, while Guatemala has surged 1,500 police and military personnel to its southern border and Honduras deployed 7,000 police and military to its border “to disperse a large contingent of migrants” there. Guatemala will also set up 12 checkpoints along the migratory route through the country.”

You're right, I got that wrong, $1.3 billion. But still Trump signed the executive order Saturday, the Canadians and Mexicans threatened retaliatory tariffs Sunday, and Monday they backed off the retaliation and Trump put a month long hold on his tariffs too. But the threat of tariffs are there if they don't comply. Fully expect them too because they need us a lot more than we need them.

I feel like we have to be having a misunderstanding of words or something

Trump threatened and put the tarrifs in place first. Canada and Mexico retaliated. Trump ended it, so Canada and Mexico followed, because they had nothing to RETALIATE against.

Trump ended it, because of the agreement, but as shown, that plan from Canada was made in 2024 was already being put in place. You can see the statement of plans from 2024, and as you now said it’s still 1.3 not 1.6. Nothing changed there.

So what you're telling me is we might have gotten 25 million new illegals in the last four years if not for the noble efforts of Mexico to keep it down to 12 or so million. Meanwhile Biden rescinded Trump's "remain in Mexico" policy, taking in hundreds of thousands a month, flying in hundreds of thousands from other countries, flying and bussing people all over the country and housing them with food and healthcare that was costing the country billions a month. And many were criminals in their own countries and committed numerous crimes here including extremely heinous acts. Yet y'all try to spin it.
