It’s ok to acknowledge people. History is better when not washed.
but it is washed even in the washed version

no one was indigenous here . the first settlers came here across the bering straight.
the first settlers may not have been the first settlers.
they may have been wiped out by the second tribe to show up. no one knows.
there were endless land battles here by different factions and versions of the first settlers.
all we do know is the victors are blamed for stealing land from those who stole it before them.

Some of the things had been already talked about Al although not yet implemented they will now be implemented along with other things that Trump and Trudeau agreed to. It’s almost laughable to pretend these are not huge wins. And you would have to believe that the Mexican president and the Canadian president were in on this with Trump to make him look good. The truth is they he is dead serious and not be fooled with. this is what capitulation looks like at the beginning of the negotiation. This is only the start.

“I just had a good call with President Trump. Canada is implementing our $1.3 billion border plan — reinforcing the border with new choppers, technology and personnel, enhanced coordination with our American partners, and increased resources to stop the flow of fentanyl. Nearly 10,000 frontline personnel are and will be working on protecting the border. In addition, Canada is making new commitments to appoint a Fentanyl Czar, we will list cartels as terrorists, ensure 24/7 eyes on the border, launch a Canada- U.S. Joint Strike Force to combat organized crime, fentanyl and money laundering. I have also signed a new intelligence directive on organized crime and fentanyl and we will be backing it with $200 million. Proposed tariffs will be paused for at least 30 days while we work together.”

mexico and canada wanted to dick around and negotiate until the next president.
trump put a boot in their collective asses and got them moving at his speed.

100% wrong. They threatened retaliatory tariffs but didn't. They called Trump and agreed to give him what he asked. What did we give them? Nothing but a one month pause to see if they'll uphold their end.
What does retaliatory mean to you? Trump didn’t go through witb tariffs, so they didn’t retaliate with their own tarrifs. The reason Trump didn’t do tarrifs, by his own admission, is the agreement they came to, but both Mexico and Canada were already doing or going to do the things set in place

Tarrifs would have hurt them more than us. Trump can look like a master negotiator and they can just pretend he is, do what they were going to do anyways and not go through with the trade war

It’s funny how this type of logic doesn’t apply when it comes to Gaza for people though. Then it becomes “well so and so was here 1000 years ago this is their land!”

I’m not saying you personally btw, don’t know your position on that, but for both sides of that discussion

You've got your timeline wrong. Trump put in 25% tariffs for Mexico and Canada. 10% on China. Mexico and Canada said they were going to put in retaliatory tariffs. But then they backed off and agreed to give Trump what he wanted. Trump then said he would pause for a month. Mexico and Canada weren't doing things already in place. They put window dressing on border security before Trump came in. And now China is saying it will buy a lot more of our agricultural products.

I know you don't want to give Trump any credit but take a good look. This is what leadership with a spine looks like. All this hand wringing by liberals because your leaders don't put America first. Seems Democrat leadership figures out how to make a buck for themselves out of letting other countries use us like a doormat.

Hard for me to feel sympathy for the Muslims because most of the Middle East was at one time Christian lands that the Muslims conquered.

I have no problem giving Trump credit, I’ve done it before, even during this current administration

But Trump put the tarrifs in. He said “there is nothing Canada and Mexico can do to stop it.” Then Canada and Mexico go “ok we’ll put ours in too”. Then they have a meeting and Trump takes his off, so Canada and Mexico take out there’s after (hence retaliatory), and that’s it. But as of now nothing has changed. It’s in writing. Canada had this planned, and Mexico is putting in 10,000 guards which they did already with Biden in 2021. Their guards might even be less useful since Trump has our people down there also anyways, they’d probably be better off at their southern border, but we’ll see

Speaking of border, Whatsup with the wall? Is he going to finish that?

So that current South African rhetoric can dissolve then. So glad there is a better sovereign option now for the first time in history.
