Kamala was put in as part of the larger Faustian Bargain made by Jim Clyburn and Biden's Campaign during the SC Primaries when it became clear just how weak the Democrat bench was in 2020. The black and minority caucus would support Biden and ignore all his past racist remarks as long as he put in a black person, preferably a woman, as a VP pick.
Problem is, who do you go with? Corey Booker is insane, Stacey Abrams is a certified election denier which, as we know, only the Republicans are. They were left with a woman with a vocabulary of 300 or so words and who lost her own state in the primaries.
