And don’t forget, making sure the company has no reason to hire more full-time people.I wouldn't call it stealing. More like subsidizing FT pay and benefits.

We have. Don't know all the circumstances but something was arranged. We never cross a picket line... ever

In my building they will hold all strike packages. Customer can come get them. What if I slide the package across the picket line, without crossing it?
What about the Hollywood writers? Do you actually expect me to respect their picket line, too?
The low PT wages are the only reason the company will not hire more FT members. Didn't always used to be like this. And don’t forget, making sure the company has no reason to hire more full-time people.
What do you mean didn’t always? The early 80s is a long time ago and they were not hiring a lot then either. The company being allowed to constantly do groundwork with article 40 air drivers definitely had an overall lower rate of compensation (ie never getting a full-time pension or any eight hour guarantee) put a Band-Aid over the situation of the need for more full-time people. In my building they will hold all strike packages. At least in my building, air drivers don't constantly run ground routes unlike Locals that allow PT coverage drivers. The Union has had 40 years to address the low PT wages and Art 40 issues. What do you mean didn’t always? The early 80s is a long time ago and they were not hiring a lot then either. There is going to be a shift coming soon, because the company can no longer force sixth punch. It is complete panic mode for management as early October comes soon. Routes will be sitting on Mondays and Saturdays, or they will be breaking these routes down and adding them to people who can’t get them done, causing more service failures and injuries until they decide to hire more people.

Lol, 40 years, did nothing. Sounds like the Central pension. At least in my building, air drivers don't constantly run ground routes unlike Locals that allow PT coverage drivers. The Union has had 40 years to address the low PT wages and Art 40 issues.
They always have the west to loot.Lol, 40 years, did nothing. Sounds like the Central pension.
Thanks!I just talked with my brother who works at the Bowling Green Corvette plant. He thinks they will get that raise but at the expense of their profit-sharing plan. He doesn't think the 32-hour work week will happen either. Last year he got a $12,500 bonus, some years he got as much as $45,000. The one GM plant shut down is called "Winsfield" it's about 40 miles from St. Louis. They build the Canyon small pickup and a SUV there. They do stamp sheet metal there for other lines that will force a couple of other plants to close.

I hate that thing
One was better
Really? My on car told me last week the 7 is due out next year. Apparently the company is done with the 6 as well.
