I don't disagree. Was only making the comment because it was suggested that UPS would be a better place to work at if we weren't in the Union.
the problem is an us vs. them mentality. The contract is only good for compensation in most parts of the county. It falls far short when compared to state laws and the policy book.

You are not factoring in our total compensation. Which include premium healthcare, and money paid towards a pension. I’m pretty sure our total package blows theirs out of the water.
I don't disagree, the pension and benefits are quite a bit better in terms of disparity in that argument. However I don't see many FedEx Express drivers out there stressing because their trucks are blown out or etc. FedEx Express drivers can also transfer around the U.S. correct me if I'm wrong, which isn't possible as a Teamster.

I would argue that us vs them mentality is better than everyone for themselves and sucking up to management.

It has nothing to do with they dont have the money. Its about pricing ourselves out of a job or being put in a situation where some guy from the outside decides what happens to us.

I agree. Let's vote for less pay and more hours so that way our CEO can triple his pay to look more attractive to our shareholders and we can keep our jobs. Hell, maybe the contract after this one we can vote for a 401k.

Are you a disgruntled supervisor? This doesn't sound like a union employee filing grievances on the daily. Nobody is buying into your divide and conquer tactics.

Can we vote for the 401k this contract? Sooner the better

What makes our country more successful? A few Billionaires and a peasant class or a financially healthy middle class of workers. Or do you consider this liberal Socialism?

I grieve all the time, i also tell everyone else too. I hate management with a passion. I also have foresight. You and anyone else who thinks year after year were going to get a dollar a year and nothing is going to happen to our jobs or our benefits is ignorant.
A dollar a year? What?

This is the Express pay scale for the area I’m in. The bottom figure is top pay for a regular driver. Cover drivers make around $1.50 more an hour (I think). The pay scale varies from area to area. In say, Ohio, it’s probably about $1.50 less and NYC maybe $1.50 more.

The pennies to the dollar quote, he’s probably thinking of FedEx Ground.

And yes, the benefits ARE lopsided. I had a surgery a few years ago and had to end up paying around $2,000 for it.
A fdx driver in my area says he tops out at about $27.50/hour pay only.

I have seen all of the markets such as OP Needs posted, it's been posted here before. $27.50 is about the lowest there is, if that's the case. On average it's more like $30 with some well over $30. But $27.50 is still pretty good driving a truck around if you are living in say, Alabama, or something.

And there we have it. So you think that's what a pkg driver does?
Yes, I was a truck driver too, it's monotonous and requires little skill except a good attention span.

Knew there'd be at least one package car driver trying to puffer fish their truck driving gig responsibilities and talents upwards into something more like a teacher or doctor :D

Isn't being a package delivery driver almost the same thing as a doctor?
