I don't don't try and time the market ... like I said, I was even by early 2013.
5 years to get back where I was.
I don't do my own investing since 2005 ... I had enough to retire then ... I've got about 3 times more than I need to retire now.

Oh yeah, you're still working ... oh well!
If it took you 5 years to get back where you were then you don't know what you're doing.

My wife has been working 3 years and has over 100k.


Everyone should retire with over 100k in their 401k.

You would think (hope) but if you were to ask some of your co-workers how much they have in their 401k's I think that you would be shocked to find that many either have less than $100K or have nothing at all put away.

I started a bit late and lost half of mine when I got divorced and should still have over $200K set aside before I retire. I will be handing that money to my Edward Jones adviser to let him work his magic.
