I wonder if he just waited until he retired and then blew the whistle? If he's a current employee I wonder if the union would be able to protect him form the inevitable backlash that he'd get from management?

Don't screw with (or fire) a WHISTLEBLOWER while the case is pending.

I love how UPS says "we did nothing wrong" but are willing to give you $25 million to not have any lengthy court hearings.
That's common in these kind of things. They'd have to spend a fortune trying to fight it. Better to just cut the losses and not deal with the stress.
