If you itemize beyond $24k you're doing well. Overall the tax cuts put more money into most people's hands, and the corporate rate cut puts more from raises and more opportunity. We need to shrink the Federal gov't. Reducing it's intake is a good start.
Shrinking the size of government would require major service reductions which would invariably impact your life in ways you wouldn't like. Today's so called "conservatives" are nothing more than people who want government services to be available now and in the future but they don't want to have to pay for them and when the elimination of such services negatively impacts the quality of their lives they're always the ones hollering the loudest. If you conservatives want to shrink the size of government you will first have to reduce the demand for government services and that won't happen That's why you don't hear much out of the Tea Party these days. When they discovered how the cuts they were aggressively advocating would directly impact their own lives they took off running.

So do you believe that everything spent is justified? No waste? No redundancy? No one committing fraud, especially with Medicaid or SS disability, or numerous other programs? The government is more efficient than the marketplace?

Might want to look up the definition of ignorant.
"The IQ test consists of a number of tasks measuring various measures of intelligence including short-term memory, analytical thinking, mathematical ability and spatial recognition."

Suggesting that it is the responsibility of our government officials to spend our tax dollars judiciously is not ignorance.
DI-LDO's insult/accusation in that regard IS ignorance.

You're ignorant because you think Republicans are actually going to cut spending. Never happens. You'll get the status quo and find someone to blame later.

Nah, I just want you to admit national debt grew by $671 Billion fiscal year 2017 after averaging more than a trillion a year under Obama. Someone is doing better somewhere, huh?
Sure, are you going to thank Obama for that now? If not, please explain what specifically it is you think Trump did to make that happen.

Most of the reduction came under Trump's administration. We still have a ways to go, but the money isn't being spent as freely. Of course you'll never admit to it, but the numbers don't lie. And if gov't revenue increases with cuts, which has happened every time tried, and we have a fiscally responsible administration and Congress, look for the deficit to be further reduced, maybe get some substantial draw down of the debt. Of course you'll scoff, but if it happens hope you're man enough to admit it.

Bush wanted to privatize Social Security. Ok, but that was until it was pointed out that banks didn't want to manage small savings accounts designed as replacements for Social Security without huge management fees which would eat away a huge percentage of the value of those accounts. Furthermore not long afterward we had the worst recession in 80 years which wiped out billions in retirement savings, depressing home values driving many into foreclosure which Munuchin and Ross bought up many for pennies on the dollar. The recession in turned contributed mightily to the fact that boomer's today have an average of just $62,900 in retirement savings which would pay for about a year's worth of residency in a nursing home. Perhaps this may explain why you don't hear much anymore about privatizing Social Security.

Who's talking about privatizing SS? Just making people accountable, cleaning up waste, arresting people for fraud, etc should fix a lot. No more junkets to Hawaii for some department to have fun on "official" business. Apply the same standards to gov't that businesses use to eek out profit. Americans in the private sector have tightened belts for some time now. Gov't should do the same.
