Was Vinny Perrone of Local 804 Out Of Line If Allegations Are True?

Negative. The smarter play would’ve been to picket outside of UPS and hold the entire management team accountable. Not showing up at someone’s house. All that does is potentially cause problems with people who have nothing to do with UPS and don’t even know the whole story. It is dangerous and irresponsible.
Protestors did it all last year in Portland and Chicago but no one seemed to care then.
Where's the inflatable pregnant rat, pig, or cat when you need one??

The public and media outcry for the fired Maspeth drivers sure put the heat on the company and let's not forget the "part time America won't work" mantra the general public supported in 1997 that boosted ups workers support.
The two most feared things for the powers that be: negative media (public) exposure and financial loss.
I'm sure this signage will aggravate the already toxic issues in the workplace.

Then again....
maybe the truck ran out of gas there?

I disagree I bet next time Reimo doesn't make such a bold decision

We have a process of grievance and arbitration, no? Currently, these employees that walked off the job got their jobs back.
A panel will decide if they are to receive back pay. The election stunt did zero for any of this.
You are correct, we do have a process of grievance and arbitration. I sat in on several that was decided before I even walked into the room. On one particular issue concerning seniority which was such an open and shut case, we lost the grievance. So I had a meeting with our Local President who was willing to file charges against our BA. But the three of us was able to resolve the issue, I did not want to see any Teamster lose his job, even if I felt the BA was not doing his job. The BA met with Labor and it was corrected without another hearing. But, a short time later, the BA crossed over the line again and was forced to resign.

Who is deciding prematurely?

Interesting question. Have you ever been to a grievance hearing? Have you noticed the the people sitting on each side of the table? And the BA and Steward and one end presenting the information regarding the grievance. Only this time, my BA sat at the table, never said a word. Also, that morning they placed all people who came for their grievance hearings in a hotel room. All grievances were heard but mine. Then the panel went to lunch, not informing me, leaving my grievance to be the only one heard after they all had their meal. At least I had a TV to watch. This was also before stewards were reimbursed for their time at hearings. Your responses on this issue makes me pray that you are not a steward because I would worry which side of the panel you are sitting on.

Never been before a panel. My philosophy is, do the job, cya, and take the occasional heat. Idiot managers come and go.

People go to politician's, sports stars, and other people's homes to protest all the time. It is a public street, with a signboard truck that states a simple fact, with a publicly accessible photo of Joe Reimo that isn't lewd or offensive.
Politicians and athletes are public figures. Big difference.

Did you park a truck outside your BAs house saying he's a liar/corrupt or outside your local saying they hire corrupt liars?

If not... Why?

Our Local was not corrupt. The President backed me 100% on the seniority issue. Myself and several of the stewards who stood up for the employees all had our problems with the BA. This BA was at first our union steward - pushed thru by the company quite some time ago. We also had a different president at that time who also by chance was convicted of several crimes not involving the union or local and ended up serving time in the big house. I didn't park a truck outside his new residence. Probably couldn't see the truck for the bars. That same president is the one who moved the steward to the BA position. I would not park a truck or billboard outside someone's house due to a disagreement. The union has channels to resolve issues. Just have to hope you are dealing with honest people such as the new president of the local we had at the time of my grievance. As a steward, I fought for each employee, using the contract, looking for any loophole I could use. If it was a losing cause, I would sit down with the employee with the contract and explain the odds of winning and let them choose to continue. The employees knew I was honest and fair. Several departments in our building as well other buildings in our city would request me when they were to have a meeting with management. There were poor BA's as well as stewards. The employees were well aware who to avoid. The seniority grievance pertained to the manager picking their favorites and offering them overtime instead of following seniority. Losing that grievance would have at least affected everyone in our local as a precedent would have been set for seniority rights. Again, I would use the legal channels available, no, I would not use a truck at someone's residence.

haha Pronably that Joe Reamo guy
You know it. That's why he started whining about violence. Management knows damn well how much they provoke people and these wimps are always scared their harassment will eventually catch up to them. Not even close as tough at home, or on the street, as they are in their Centers.
