And if you look at job growth in 2018 then the above overstatement is a much smaller % of total growth. And according to the article above the overstatement of 2023 job creation was 40% of reported job growth. So while both administrations, along with past admistrations, had to adjust their numbers downward, we saw real job creation under Trump but under Biden we see an administration taking credit for people returning to work after the pandemic. A lot of people are also holding down multiple jobs due to inflation. Exactly why in spite of spin trying to help Biden his economic poll numbers are way down. Only diehard Democrats think he's doing a good job.

There are currently 4 million more people working today than in 2019 and an average of 1.3 million more small businesses were created per year since 2020. (4M per compared to 5.3 most recently)

Are they all single proprietors work for Door Dash and Uber Eats? We have a lower labor participation rate than pre pandemic also.

Door Dash, Uber and jobs like that are not considered a business and do not require state and federal tax ID numbers. They are considered subcontractors and receive a 1099 for tax purposes. The participation rate in 2023 was affected negatively by the 4% increase in college and trade school enrollments. 2020 and 2021 were low water levels for enrollment as an affect of Covid, but have rebounded the last two years.
