Our retirement destination was Lake Tahoe and we moved here in 1996. while still working until 2015.
This place has grown and changed so much we rarely drive around Tahoe anymore. Maybe twice a year. Once in April and once in October.....off season times.

But there are tons of great out of the way campgrounds and lakes that only the locals know about so it's still never boring.

Lake Davis near Portola, Cali is a hidden gem we like to go to.
