That's why we campaign. Apathy.
How are you going to feel when Hoffa loses Ohio?

Will you ask yourself, "could I have done more"?

The answer is no, Hoffa did so much damage that even a mack campaigner like yourself could pull him out of the hole he dug in Ohio.

Don't beat yourself up.

I guess you have trouble with arithmetic. More members in 407 voted against H than for him. Will be worse this time.

You must be a Faux News Bill O'Reilly fan. you're stuck in the spin zone. I'm glad you're a truck driver because you'd be really skinny as a statistician. You are making an assumption that if it was a two way race with Sandy Pope and Hoffa that all those Gegaire votes would go to Pope. Hmm Don't work that way. You can spin it any way you want. H&H crossed the finish line with more votes. Scoreboard Baby.

I talked to a couple of YRC drivers today. Asked them if they were voting for H*

I can't post their reply ....lol

The only thing giving Hoffa a leg up, is that he completely let the freight industry down.

If they had even half the freight members still active in the Teamsters when Hoffa took office, Hoffa would be defeated 2 to 1.

It would be no contest, because those that remain, vote in huge percentages.
Fact

A lot of smaller Teamster shops have no love for him either. Some of those places have low wages and little or no benefits.

What's the point of being in the union?

So it's Hoffa and hall fault that Yellow (who couldn't compete with Roadway) bought Roadway, Holland and New Penn?

You said it was a fact. Please elaborate on the so called fact that Hoffa advised Yellow to borrow money and buy these companies. Seeing he "let the frieght industry down."

While you're at it can you give some "facts" on how Hoffa and Hall were involved with the deregulation of trucking?

I guess the middle east is their fault too.

Or maybe they rigged the election for Bush against Gore.

Laughable.

File! File! File!
I understand most of you are drivers and many of you may even think that's the only real job or "important job" within UPS... Not all of us are making 35 per hour and in the meantime we have drivers/preloaders who will make a whopping 13 bucks per hour after 4 years of back breaking work. As an example the guy above me in seniority has been driving summer and Christmas peak for multiple years gets paid starting pay everything and has to continue working preload just to stay qualified. I understand many of you are very blessed in what you are getting but an even larger majority of UPS teamsters are barely getting by, trying to raise a family on scraps and hanging on to hope to get that same break.

I was a preloader for 6 years before going full time. I understand. I had 2 jobs the whole time till I got a full time bid. I'm now going into year 27. It wasn't alot better then. Tough it out if it means getting another job do it till you can get a full time bid. Right now around here you can be a package car driver in a year or two.

There were certainly many hurdles and hard times, but to completely turn your back on the industry was obviously not the answer.

Freight is still moving across our highways and the Teamsters could have organized a portion of them, but they seem more content poaching public sector employees from other unions and school bus drivers, who are only viable as long as their company holds the contracts.

It's been 30+ years since deregulation, and it's time to stop crying about it and organize what's left of the industry.

What was the progression when you went full-time, 2 years?

Now it's 4 years.
The "unborn" continue to be sold out to pass these concession filled contracts you love, because they don't adversely affect you.
@Cody1820 can see through your rhetoric and isn't buying it.

Thanks Hoffa

And he let the freight industry down....

By trying to keep the companies, economically viable ?

Let me know, about the effort you are willing to spend in trying to organize in freight.

The assumption that it is a plausible endeavor, is naive.... at best.

Poaching ??

Nope.

Just gathering "low hanging fruit".

If Fred wins are you going to comeback under yet another username?
Flip flop Freddy won't win. After it's over I'll pound my chest asserting I'm the alpha male that I am. I will thank hall for the life he negotiated for me. Give praise to Hoffa and the great bunch of brothers I work with.

Then I'll go off for about a week and then vanish like a fart in the wind.

How has that worked out, for these companies and our members?

Presently, I am gainfully employed, but am willing to entertain all reasonable offers.

What makes a freight company less "plausible", than a school bus company?

Poaching ??
Nope.
Just gathering "low hanging fruit".

Yet somehow our membership numbers continue to dwindle...???

....seems like bruised fruit in the long run.

I'm just curious, but did you join BC just to type pro H comments all day? Your join date, username, and posts tell me you are only here to promote H for the election and once the election is over, you'll be gone
