you feeder??? We were told that the rail would still be used for loads…we have gypos running trailers to Chicago and those have to be switches over to us soon… we still have rail work and will continue even after the contract.
Yes we do have rail work but not as dependent on it as we were 4 years ago. All these sleeper runs being implemented are because of the gypos and the faster than ground service they are labeling the sleeper team network. The gypos taking trailers and dispatch not creating runs for actual ups feeder drivers I think will be big issue with contract negotiations. And if they think the gypos will be able to step in and carry our workload during a strike they are sadly mistaken. Those boneheads can’t even find the right inbound area without us helping them and CMG is the one giving them the wrong address every freakin time.

Is cmg a company that ups owns or a separate entity? I have heard that feeder has been more involved with some of the sleeper stuff because of how incompetent they are but that’s just from the FNN, for what the hell that’s even worth.

CMG is the middle group between the feeder drivers and the feeder department. Carrier Management Group, CMG, they are ups and they also are the dispatch responsible for the contractors as well. And most but not all contractors are subcontractors from Coyote, which is also a UPS owned entity. Feeder is adding sleeper teams run per the contract to remove loads from rail but they are doing it at a snails pace. It being the year of the contract they are required to add or have a certain number of sleeper runs added and we are seeing them do that now, like a said slowly.

UPS is allowed to do as it pleases.
