The most recent numbers I've been able to find shows that adoptions in quite a number of states are actually down from prior years. It would therefore appear that there are fewer people out there willing to shoulder the burden of someone else's socially irresponsible behavior not to mention the high cost of raising a kid. But let's face it. If you've got the cute, perfectly healthy seemingly intelligent and let's face it WHITE baby it has a very good chance of being adopted .A much much higher likelihood than one who doesn't meet these specifications.
Look pal, you don't have any money so there's nothing you can do about it so why not just forget about it and move on. Hiding out in South America waiting for the bill collectors to lose track of you makes you a poor choice to champion social causes.

So, when you remodel a bathroom you just happen to have $8500 lying around? I'm paying what he agreed to, $600 a month plus $30 monthly interest. Then paying off our car. Surely you've heard of car payments? Then for good measure paying off the stepdaughter's car so that we can get her into an apartment and sell our house. Heading back here then. The only people we'll be hiding from is folks like you. Hasta la Vista, baby!

Coming from a pure unapologetic racist. If you weren't then you would have clearly seen the point I was making and that is that there is no denying the fact that if you are an infant and met the above mentioned specifications your chances of being adopted are higher. If not then despite the supply of adoption candidates here in the states why were so many people going to Russia for kids?

Because it is easier (from a logistics and process aspect) than adopting in the USA.
It is ridiculous what all one has to do to adopt if you are not a foster parent of the child for a year or more.
Within our family, 2 adoptions have occurred and a friend adopted 2 unrelated kids from Kazakhstan.
Other than the adopters flying to Kazakhstan and staying for week (really cheap there) there is not much else to do.
The adoptions within the USA (GA & AZ) took years, lawyers, and all kind of human pet-tricks, jumping through hoops, etc. is a long drawn out and extremely expensive process ... over $70,000 for each occurrence.

My wife and I looked at adoption...got half-way there, but it was a hot mess, and probably $60K.

Instead we went with an egg-donor and IVF, my ‘cadillac’ UPS insurance paid about 95% of it.

My Uncle adopted two wonderful children from Russia. He’s stupid rich so he could afford to fly to Russia, etc.

But, after his first successful adoption, he and his wife adopted another child from Russia, and ended up returning the kid who was so developmentally disabled it was tragic. Kind of wack, but there it is.

Then, on their third try, they suceeded for their second Russian adoptee.

On the one hand, it makes sense. When my wife and I went down the adoption rabbit hole, we had to meet with Psychologists, therapists, doctors...

You know, no one in the US State apparatus wants to let a nutball crazy family adopt a kid.

On the other hand, it’s hella expensive and the ‘barriers for entry’ are quite tall, so I’m not surprised that adoption rates in the US of US kids to US families aren’t higher.

It is what it is.

It's a money scheme. A pathetic attempt to "sell" children.
The government should be paying for families to take in "homeless" kids instead of the gross greed that is wrecking adoption in America.
