Not like anyone has 20% to put down on a home now anyway. It’s not 1970 anymore.

So did Ford and Reagan. Things got worse for those two Presidents also. The current Fed is drawing parallels with the 80's inflation and stagflation as they raise rates while maintaining near full employment. The capitalism pendulum can and does swing hard in each direction. Worldwide inflation will be with us for multiple years. We can't just suck the excess money out of the economy overnight
Regan did so poorly fixing Carter's mess he barely won reelection in 84.
