Apparently the Corporate rules don't apply here

I don't think anybody has suggested that. It's the fact that if something isn't right, you guys immediately say it's ops fault. Get away from your cubicle sometime and see what it's really like in an operation.
nice post but banging on the "office monkey" meme doesn't make it any less true

I have played the system into a nice cushy job that I can support my family and retire from comfortably.
How has that fighting the "man" worked out for you?
you didnt answer the question about what workers should do when they employers are ruining their work lives with greed. so i guess thats nothing? :) most people do that and think its ok and then wonder why they hate their jobs or why their country is going down the toilet. you might want to do at least something to "fight" the man before you end up like the east germans.

im not sure alot of people would describe UPS as "nice and cushy". the drivers hustle really hard. i work for another big corporation where no one hustles (some guys do 10% of the work of other guys and somehow dont get fired which suprised me), we make $4/hr less than UPS, and we can do 35 hours a week if its slow (for some reason our boss wants us working even when theres nothing to do), theres no heavy lifting and no worry about accidents.

im doing bio right now and then im gonna do radiology. i did fuel trucking too.

I came to the realization a long time ago to stop worrying about things I have no control over. Life is entirely to short to spend my time tilting at windmills. There have been inequalities in society since the dawn of civilization. You could go back to the time of Hammurabi and find a class of civilization who was being oppressed. Maybe you will be the one who changes 3,000 years of human nature. More power to you bro.
I guess it's a matter of perception as to if you feel a country is going down the toilet. I don't look at the past with rose colored glasses. I am thankful for all the advantages living in America today afford me.
Reread my post. I said I had worked myself to a nice cushy job at UPS. Not all full time jobs at UPS involve driving a truck. But after 28 years of being at UPS I have about as easy a job as there is out there.

i think its a fact that many western countries are going down the toilet. your right it could be worse, but hopefully people will start trying to do anything to make the political / economic system work better because its a :censored2: show in many western countries. i donate so much money to wikileaks, democracy now, democracy at work that it hurts me a bit, but on the other hand i could be doing more; so it evens it out. i do worry about nukes and climate change, but these days i am a pretty happy guy. i went overboard in 2012 / 2013.

ahh congrats. at least UPS is part driving and drivers can rest their feet.

At least that is changing with Brexit and the popularity of people like Marine Le Pen.

some of the guys i listen to support brexit, some dont. not sure about marine le pen; i have a feeling she wont make france great again.

it all reminds me of trump winning the election; most of hte guys i listen to didnt think it could happen, so the good news is events like these show that anything can happen.
