Why are there so many different plans instead of one? Must be a reason it was set up that way?
Local autonomy…. within regions and Locals.

Why do you think UPSers are the only Teamsters that participate in pension plans? Right, because 177 only has UPS. We have many companies and employees in ours, UPS is just a part of the puzzle, why would we want other UPSers from other locals to have a say in what our local pays out to our members? Why are there so many different plans instead of one? Must be a reason it was set up that way?

In hindsight it probably would have been better to go with the UPS pensions but we trusted the company even less than Central StatesTh a t was part of the reason for the strike of 97

I don't know, but my UPS/IBT pension check shows up the first of every month and I have no doubts that it won't.Trust me..The Company will never have our members' best interests on any of their agendas......They are simply "Greedy Bastards" to put it kindly...If we lost ALL our "Monetary Contribution Plans" to the Company back in "97" the West would be getting half of what they are entitled to today and in the future. The "97" strike was necessary, then Hoffa got into office...nuff said..![]()

FixedI have a guy at work like that
I said, if you die in twenty years in one day she gets nothing, loses, the smaller of the two social security checks plus gets pushed into a higher tax bracket because she's single.
There was a member to used to post on her and her dad retired with without no survivorship options and died very shortly afterwards, and the mother struggled for the rest of her life.
If you're married, you want to make sure the pool boy or mail man will take care of your wife
Subway?Besides who is going to make me a sandwich?

I understand the PT check, but how do receive the two others? Relocation?I get 3 checks. UPS/IBT, Central States, and UPS Pension. (PT)
When you hit 65 the FT pension gets split between Central States and UPS (who was previously paying all of it) plus a 3rd check if you had PT yearsI understand the PT check, but how do receive the two others? Relocation?
That sounds like a formula for disaster.I get 3 checks. UPS/IBT, Central States, and UPS Pension. (PT)
One year in, and they haven’t missed a lick.
Central States has even been a day early before.
As long as it all adds up to the same amount I don't careThat sounds like a formula for disaster.
It was until CS got the bailout. That sounds like a formula for disaster.
I have heard the same from guys that I know getting their CS part of their pension.I get 3 checks. UPS/IBT, Central States, and UPS Pension. (PT)

We thought you were getting 3 huge checks every month.Yep.
Except for me. There was an addendum for grandfathered BA's. We get the 3 checks prior to age 65.
It's no big deal, because the total is the same. Just different funds paying their part.
