SAN BENITO, Guatemala (AP) - The day worker lay wounded, playing dead as the killers cut off the heads of other victims. A pregnant woman was let go when her children started to cry. But 27 others in one of Guatemala's largest postwar massacres were slaughtered, their bodies and severed heads left strewn across the green pasture of an isolated cattle ranch in the northern border province of Peten.
Guatemalan authorities on Monday blamed the weekend of violence on the Mexican drug cartel, the Zetas, which has set up shop in Guatemala and brought its terror tactics to the rural indigenous area along the Mexican border.
The Zetas are blamed for two recent mass killings in Mexico as well, 183 bodies found in mass graves last month and a massacre of 72 migrants last August, both in the state of Tamaulipas bordering Texas.

I still can't believe it when I hear officials actually use the word "illegal" when describing the recipient immigrants who will get reduced tuitions in colleges. I keep yelling....."Do you actually HEAR what you are saying.....these 'ILLEGAL' people will receive such'n'such........OMG!!!

DEA Agents Refuse To Turn Over ATF Guns

PHOENIX — In an Arizona drug bust last month the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration confiscated more than druga. Federal agents accidentally came upon two giant garbage cans filled with assault rifles, and they just uncovered some of those guns that had been in the hands of the drug runners once belonged to their brother agency, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
The federal drug agents discovered the AK-47-type assault rifles wrapped in cellophane and hidden inside two giant trash barrels. Agents believe the confiscated weapons were heading to drug cartels in Mexico. Problem is, a serial number on at least one of the weapons traces back to the ATF.

But how many would jump at the chance to link it to a republican president? In fact if at all possible they will still try.
And saner, calmer heads would point out the ridiculous nature of that link, no?

I don't know that ridiculous is the word I would use, for it isn't out of the realm of possibilities. However I doubt that every operation that the ATF or the DEA carries out are approved by the president himself but by the respective directors. I'm sure there is a lot that goes on behind the presidents back.

That's possible, but it is a fact of the admitted failed ATF program that let gun buyers for the cartel just walk on by.
