Arizona's anti-imigration law...

What I find incredible is that the Federal law is a bit stronger than the AZ. law and the federal gov't wants to sue AZ. That doesn't EVEN make sense.
They are suing on the bases that the constitution gives the fed gov the responsibility of protecting the boarders and with states passing laws to achieve the same goal somehoe interferes with the feds enforcing immigration laws. I'm sure they will try using possible profiling as a reason as well.

maybe Gov Brewer should up-the-stakes here; in this game of legalize it's about time for her to silence barry & crew , pass another law demanding barry open all of his sealed records.
Then invite barry down to Az, and have the local cops pull him over & demand to see his papers.

Great idea!!!!:thumbup1:

They're already working on a bill to outlaw anchor babies, it's kinda sorta the same. lol

:bigsmile2:

Greta Van Susteren did an interview with the author of that bill (Russal Pearce?) and he seemed confident that the bill would go thru. I like the idea.:happy2:

What law are you talking about? One from 1876? 1964? I still can't find that Federal law you guys proclaim it's the same or mirrors SB1070, well not a contemporary one.

Oh no no no no no. I'm against illegal immigration. But, that doesn't mean that I must favor SB1070. And it's not me the one that had make it racially, but the law itself, lol. And as you talk you seem you're not on the 80% of people in the polls, that favor in creating a program that would allow illegal immigrants already living in the United States for a number of years to stay here and apply to legally remain in this country permanently if they had a job and paid back taxes.

I think you keep trying to make this a racial issue and it's not. It's got to do with whether or not you are here legally! If you are here illegally, you've committed a crime and need to go......no matter what color you are. I think you've got a chip on your shoulder........JMO

There is no maxim, in my opinion, which is more liable to be misapplied, and which, therefore, more needs elucidation, than the current one, that the interest of the majority is the political standard of right and wrong.- James Madison

And.

In Republics, the great danger is, that the majority may not sufficiently respect the rights of the minority.- James Madison.

James Madison, one of my favorites, along with Tomas Jefferson, that had to do with the writing of our Constitution. That's why polls don't say much to me, about what is right or what is wrong with a law.

So you are all for criminals to be given a free pass just because they have a job.
You are sick.
First......they all must leave the country......
second ...apply for permission to return........
third... get in the established line of people already waiting to become citizens....{ the ones who play by the rules }
and then maybe.
.......................................................
I know of some who came here legally , and after several years & several thousands paid for fees our government still said no.

I'm sure you're in the 60%.
But are you with the 71% who think legal Latino Citizens will be harassed by the police?

I'm with the 75% of the people that feel the government isn't doing enough to secure the border and the 83% that support the use of the National Guard to patrol the border.

In addition to the high support for increased enforcement, Americans also disagree with the way Obama is dealing with the immigration issue. Fifty-one percent of Americans disapprove of the President's policies. More Americans disapprove of the way he's handling immigration than the way he's handling the oil spill in the Gulf and the economy.:sad-little:

If the Fed (in this case Obama) was doing their job to PROTECT the citizens of the USA then Arizona wouldn't have to do it for them now would they?...

Hotshot, I posted links to the US Code to the mirrored laws on this thread. You even (finally) said you had read them. Now you say you can't find them?

Oh, that's a funny bit. The thing about funny bits is they are rarely totally true.
Holyshot, White Supremacy groups do like the law SB1070. I can't believe it.

Amazing huh? 90+% ILLEGAL immigrants like the idea of amnesty. Neither stat proves much, if anything.

I've already shown you the difference in race and nationality, several times, several ways. This makes your claim that the law is "racially" is unfounded.

I personally am against ANY law or legal action that would legitimatize the masses of illegal immigrants living here for any period of time, UNTIL the boarders are secured. Then and ONLY then should there be discussions on what to do about the ones (12-15 million of them) already here illegally.

The problem isn't just in Arizona either.
