If you’re a PT sup and a feeder driver tells you to close the door at a certain time, you better do it. We’ve been here much longer than you and have way more pull than you do.
Uh no.

They have authority over you. No? Absolutely. Legality and all that "can't make you do anything illegal or dangerous....."

They can ignore you or tell you to wait.....lot's of things. Consequences of all that and you doing the same.....well.

Time in service has no bearing in employee vs. mgt. Fact.

If a pt sup tells you NOT to pull a trailer, you better NOT do it. FTS, FTMGR on up the line.

Just as in an employee can't tell another what to do....

If a PT supervisor refused to let me pull on time for any reason, I had dispatch on speed dial. I let them call down there and bitch them out. In my building, feeders had bigger cujones than the hub. We were also told by various on roads over the years to cover our time with Shift time or CS. I always made sure I had a witness when they told me to do stuff like that.
Speed dial? I don't use my personal phone. I will drive to dispatch. Or walk. That can take awhile....they don't read text messages either....they don't have phones in the new hubs like they used to.....

I've handed the phone to a pt sup and after listening....they still didn't do anything. FTSUPS too. I can't make the pt sup take the phone to listen.....

Example: Load retainers......I guess the Hub has bigger cajones.....see?

Communication would be more effective without the bullying and hate. Try again.

It's difficult to pull a trailer with an extendo and loader in it....even at 3. In Fresno or any other place.

I don’t give a :censored2: what equipment is used to load the trailer.

It leaves at 3. That is the rule. If
Your pissant supes can’t follow the rule even though I demand it, it’s out of my hands. If you
Claim to drive as long as you have, you are an embarrassment.

It’s like I said…. Putting delay on everything can be more of a red flag than just waiting on a load and not putting any delay at all. There’s times where dispatch will be called by load sup and they give them extra time past pull time…really only thing that I worry about coding out is breakdown time and I have to be at the shop for more than 10 or so minutes.. I don’t code it out if I just have a question for one of the shop guys..everyone is different I guess.
I couple, problem? I immediately go on breakdown....that's what it is. No paperwork? Delay equipment/trailer.....that's what it is. I used to put delay for load retainers.....they aren't used anymore so...I just close the door. Simple.

This is really about passing the buck for mgt. Hub blames feeders.....Feeders blame Hub. Breakdown? Feeders blame Automotive. Delays aren't allowed by feeders because they are accountable for them....just like missed loads. Someone is responsible. If they can blame anyone else...they will.....to CYA. It's really, really all about money.

Oh piss off dude you know it will never stick as long as you are doing your job.

Years of safe driving has nothing to do with you being questioned on why you got held on the wall.

Try your bull:censored2: on someone who hasn’t been around for 20 years. I see through your crap.

I did try and reason with them. If they refused to retract the extendo or call the loaders out, I let dispatch play the heavy.

I played that game a few times. They told me they are going to hold me until downtime so I called dispatch. 5 minutes later here comes the PT sup running to close the door and he gives me the side eye as I laugh my ass off.

Circle of honor is a big deal, makes you credible, so much so that this is what you think...

I have seen some of the most unsafe driving and safety practices by high seniority circle of honor drivers.

And you...
Again, Circle of Honor, multi decade service providers can be some of the most miserable, unsafe individuals on the planet.

Aaand you...
I've known plenty that have been given a pass on accidents. I've also seen many that simply weren't reported. You know-"hey we can't do our job without scrapes and dings...." Ever heard that? This from high, high Circle of Honor drivers.

Aaaaannnnnd you....replying to someone talking about having speeders in the yard....
Yes we do. And many are Circle of Honor. Some of the worst. Especially on the yard. Especially.

Listen. He only brings it up when it benefits him and only downplays it when it benefits him. This has been his MO since he’s been here.

To quote a senior circle of honor driver I’ve talked to,

“Circle of honor?? More like circle of liars”

For me, yes and no. I cover my ass with every aspect of this job. “Don’t let them hold you passed 3”. Ok. That was my directive and I follow the rules to the T. Now it’s passed 3 and they are still holding me. So I call dispatch and tell them why I haven’t left by 3. Now I have passed the buck. When my ass gets called into the office and asked why that load missed the rail, I have a legitimate reason. Rule number one of this business, cover. Your. Ass.
Yes absolutely if it’s a hot load situation where it’s a rail that has to under no circumstances be off the door by a certain time, yes. But anytime I’ve ever pulled a load like that the hub was well aware of what time it had to be wrapped. I’m talking just in general night loads going to other buildings that are supposed to pull at a certain time but don’t always, not my problem. Dispatch knows when we sneeze don’t let them kid you. They like to play dumb to shift the responsibility onto us just like in package. if they’re so curious as to find out why I’m still on property they can use their cell phone and call their contact in the hub. I don’t pick up the phone and call them ever. If it’s the hot load and for some reason it’s not being wrapped I let the PT sup know you need to call dispatch and explain why I’m still here. They usually get that look of panic on their face and start flinging irregs in and I’m magically off the door 5 minutes later. I’m really big on never picking up the phone and calling dispatch. I see the little kiss asses being dispatched over the phone whenever I go up to the window. Dispatcher on his cell talking to their little runners. Nah, that’s not how I roll. My cell phone isn’t to call dispatch. When the IVIS used to have the function where you could use it as a phone I would sometimes call if my inbound failed and I needed a door. The last update took that out. My inbound fails, I drive around park in front of the feeder office, walk upstairs and get a door. Not using my phone.

I don’t know where some of you work but I haven’t said four words to my on road in 2 years. Never even see him. Been called in the office and questioned about something maybe three times since I’ve been in feeders.
