They do timecard at tge end of shift, all you had to do is put your time in writing and they would fix it, and if they cheated you or put wrong time you let them fix it. If not, go file grievence and handle it.. but as a employee almost 20 years, never heard of anyone having a problem... and they cant work you off the clock, if you got hurt not on the clock, thats a major problem,

End of the day, I find a computer, turns out I was never clocked in at all.
An entire day off the clock...great for management's numbers and maybe for the stock holders but not for me.

Preface: I've read nothing other than the OP, so this may be a repost

When management goes in to alter your time card, you will not see the changes on the computer when you clock in and out. I don't know why but it's almost like a separate application altogether handles timecard changes, and the hourlies don't see management's manual changes until they get a look at their pay stub at the end of the week (my experience, but it's possible I'm mistaken and have been :censored2:ed over in the past.. I mean, this is UPS, after all....)

So, and this is giving your supervisor the benefit of the doubt here, if he did make a change to your timecard, it would not have shown on the clock-out computer that same day but it will show on your pay stub for that work-week. Again, just from my experience. It makes no sense to me but that's how it seems to work.

Why would other people's misfortune catch up with ME? I don't cause their misfortune...
doesnt matter. americas economy for example is a sinking ship, its healthcare is a sinking ship, and that :censored2: spreads and your chances of avoiding the :censored2: storm are going down.

the economy will collapse again, good chance it will be worse than 2008, and when that happens UPS could severely cut your wages, or raise your healthcare payments, or your government could make your standard of living fall as it already has.

I explain it like this, the timecard system you use is transmit only. No receive function. If you think we have a problem TELL ME. Throwing attitudes like a child doesn't motivate me to help you. Will I? Absolutely. But throwing a temper when it turns out nothing was wrong makes me not trust you.

I'm not disproving anything. Just putting it in different terms. When I explain it all to guys that seems to sink in better than going in depth about the system. You were 100% spot on.

Time card edits don't show up on the computer. If you worked 4 hours a day in a week and a supervisor manually entered the 4 on Monday you'll see 16 hours total when you punch out on the computer on Friday. Paystub should still show 20.

If you're still missing a whole day, have it corrected and let your whole sort and shop stewards know so they can each rightfully take up your sup's time with time card correction and/or verification requests. The work is definitely too hard to be shorted. Getting it right the first time is best for everyone. Especially if you and your coworkers watch your hours and paystubs like package hawks. Or something.

you want to be treated differently? change the system!
Yeah lets change the system! Lets go communist, because that has worked well before! *cough* Soviet Union *cough*. Or better yet lets go socialist! Even better! *cough* Greece *cough*
just a matter of time till other peoples misfortune catches up with you
No other's people misfortune catches up with me in a socialist or communist set up because it's all about the collective, not the individual. I get screwed because Hank is too damn lazy to have a job.

You don't understand how a union contract works do you?

Is it $400 for part timers in your local also? I've never heard of it being that high.

I actually have no clue what the initiation fee totals in my area... I just know that they took out $50 a week until I had it plus backfees/dues covered.
