The path of totality is relatively thin, around 70 miles wide, and stretches from Salem, Oregon to Charleston, South Carolina.

It would be pointless to be on the streets on this day for centers that are in the path.

We have heard rumors of a midnight start time. We are in the main path. I'll be working the north end of it. Wife working the other end of the zone. We've already gotten letters about how cells and Internet and power could go down - wonder if DIAD functionality will be affected. But yeah even local traveling they're recommending 3 days food and water and a gas can even if you're staying off the highway and business routes. Only 250k people live here, we are expected to get 2 million or more.
