One large rural county here has already been declared in state of emergency here for the event. Natl. Guard will be out for crowd and traffic control. State hwy 55 and 95 will be a parking lot. Some hotels have been cancelling reservations and rebooking at 10-50x original pricing. The state AG is not impressed. My route may get shut down for the day.

Your right its not UPS. On that Mon. I drive a shuttle route into the mountains to drop to two other FedEx couriers. If my rte gets shut off so do they. those 2 rtes cover two huge rural vacation areas. folks are paying 1400 bucks for a ride up the ski lift with lunch at the top. Woo hoo

We're headed to Tellico Plains Tenn. as we have a growing caravan of 4 4x4 rigs who will meet up with 2 other rigs in Tellico currently on a 2500 miles on road/off road Odyssey up the eastern seaboard with a final destination in Canada. Plan is to hit the area at or before 9 am and start back home about 3ish. According to our computer apps and GPS, we are near dead center the totality zone with an expected 2 minutes 40 seconds of totality.

The totality zone goes from NW of the US down to the SE. If your final destination is in Canada then you aren't in the totality zone.
