You are clearly missing one inescapable fact....These cases are NOT tried in the court of public opinion by people such as you with no formal education in the field of law. And since those cases are NOT tried in the court of public opinion is does NOT matter what you or I think of those sentences.

The public opinion has more to do with things than we know. Public opinion has made judges change (reconsider) their sentences many times.
We might not be able to change sentences every time but we sure can use the information from those sentences to see how a judge thinks and acts on the law and then we can let our opinion be known when that person is in the process of getting even a more powerful position. That is where we are now. I don’t want someone that has a record on child porn cases that was easy on the perpetrator 100% of the time to have more power. I sure the hell wouldn‘t be standing up for that person. I would also speak against the person that is trying to move them into a more powerful job. Then again we only speak out against what we are against.

Around 5 million people have signed a petition seeking clemency for Rogel Aguilera-Mederos, who was sentenced for a crash that killed four. A judge set a Jan. 13 hearing to reconsider the sentence.

Bruce Jones is a county common pleas court judge One case involving one of 26 common pleas court judges in that one county in one state in a 50 state union. There is only one judicial level lower than this guy and a very long way to go through the judicial system until you get to SCOTUS. When did I ever say that I supported or condoned that type of behavior? Judge Jackson served on the US District Court of APPEALS meaning that she heard decisions that were appealed up to her level. And when a judge serving at that level issues a decision you've only got one more level to go and that's assuming that they'll even hear the case. No one says that you have to like her decisions but you me and everybody else has to respect that decision.
So here's one for you. In separate cases two Pennsylvania State Police troopers are being charged with sex crimes. One is accused of enjoying doing the barnyard thing with underage teen girls while another is charged not just with the distribution of child pornography and also the production and distribution of child pornography. So stay tuned to see what happens there.

And since I don't and lack the license to challenge such rulings I ACCEPT the judgement of the court And that's WHY they have JUDGES. And you too whether you like it or not have no choice but to do the same. After all you are part of the law and order party.
