Took forever for me to get a refund, but finally got it, instead of a credit that needed to be used by end of next year.
Not sure about the crew still being stranded. I did a search and didn't see any recent articles. cruise ships crew stranded at DuckDuckGo
Current Carnival deal is a full refund, or a Future Cruise Credit of your full fare plus $600 On Board Credit.
I haven't doen it yet, but I'll take the FCC and OBC.
