Textbook hit. Defense is supposed to try to jar the ball loose.

Looked like a catch and a fumble to me. The receiver made a move to turn upfield before he was hit.

Definitely nasty enough to knock his fillings loose but that is football.

I don't understand the problem then… I really don't watch college football do they have a different set of rules?

College is slightly different than pro but by the book that hit was legal. Just looked bad because it was a very hard hit.

Yep the runner lowered his head so that it hit the defenders helmet.

Yep that's why the defender has to go low and not lead with the crown of his helmet.

If a defender can't lead with his head an offensive player shouldn't be allowed to either.

There is a correct way to tackle and leading with the crown of the helmet is a good way for the defender to get injured as well.

One of my all time favorite defensive players is Ronnie Lott but that style of play is what leads to players ending up in a wheelchair or severe brain damage. Love the game, just don't want see players end up that way unnecessarily.
