Bare floors are better, imo.

Those don't grow very well here. Not without a lot of work. The soil isn't acidic enough.

Can’t get them to over winter here I’ve tried mulching them cutting them back and putting one of those styrofoam insulator you put on roses

They never make it over the winter

I was talking to my sister yesterday. She was complaining about how badly she needs her carpet cleaned from all the mud her dogs tracked in.

Rhododendrons do better around here than azaleas. Similar growth requirements.

Pine needles will kill off most other plants. I do have a wegalia near a blue spruce that is doing OK though.

Very easy to care for. Just trim it back periodically.

You can add ground sulfur or ferrous sulfate, to increase the acidity. How much of each? All depends on the starting number of pH. That, and lots of organic material.

My goodness yes. I have many of them. The show of color in April and May is amazing! They do well surviving winter too, never had any loss. Somewhere around here, I have a plant log. I have to find that so I can tell you what varieties.
