Rhododendrons do better around here than azaleas. Similar growth requirements.

You can add ground sulfur or ferrous sulfate, to increase the acidity. How much of each? All depends on the starting number of pH. That, and lots of organic material.

My goodness yes. I have many of them. The show of color in April and May is amazing! They do well surviving winter too, never had any loss. Somewhere around here, I have a plant log. I have to find that so I can tell you what varieties.
