You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
Do you need to replace the whole septic system?
No we just need to completely change the way the system flows. Now it flows to the back of the house. Which is where the old septic or leach was.

We need it to flow to the front of the house which is where the hookup to city sewer is.

That sounds odd. Around here waste water flows to the back and storm water drains to the front.

You have to go to the front to connect to the nearest city sewer line?

Around here if your house is older than 3 years old and you have a septic system you can't do anything that requires a building permit unless you have your septic system inspected to the tune of $150. Want to build a garage or put a small addition on your house---call the septic inspector. Its a friend'in racket. Unfortunately its a necessary evil because in the old days a septic system could have been anything from an old car buried in the back yard used as a holding tank to just a pipe running outside down to the lake. About 30 years ago they discovered that the majority of country homes had non conforming systems.

You are lucky to have that option

There was a house on my route that was in the city but for some odd reason had a leach field instead of connecting to city sewer line. It went bad and they had a mess for months fixing it.
