IMO, the newbie. There was no lake view until the guy started cutting down her trees. How could it cause him to lose value? He moved into an established neighborhood and tried to change things to HIS likings. Wish I was the judge in that case. Lol. It makes me think of people who move into a house next to an airport then complain about the noise.

Exactly. Is the lady planting all of those trees spiteful and over the top? Yes but he's demanding a view that he created by trespassing and cutting up her trees.

In my opinion she's owed some money and he should have been fined much more than $350 bucks.

Yeah, I agree with both of you. Newbie going onto a neighbors yard and cutting trees is a no-no. They really, really frown upon that here in Texas. As far as the spite fence, it's her yard, her trees and she should be able to grow them as tall or as bushy as she wants. Looks to me like, newbie could have saved all that money with lawyers fees and just bought a house on the water.
