You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
Yeah, I agree with both of you. Newbie going onto a neighbors yard and cutting trees is a no-no. They really, really frown upon that here in Texas. As far as the spite fence, it's her yard, her trees and she should be able to grow them as tall or as bushy as she wants. Looks to me like, newbie could have saved all that money with lawyers fees and just bought a house on the water.
Apparently Wisconsin has a law against things like spite fences which is another story. I agree her yard she should be able to do whatever she wants with it.

IMO, the newbie. There was no lake view until the guy started cutting down her trees. How could it cause him to lose value? He moved into an established neighborhood and tried to change things to HIS likings. Wish I was the judge in that case. Lol. It makes me think of people who move into a house next to an airport then complain about the noise.

Kind of reminds me of when my next door neighbor built his house (we all have 5 acres on our road) and proceeded to clear tons of trees to make a bigger yard. I politely told him that due to the fact we don't have any curtains on the one side of the house that over looks the river and due to the fact our houses sit at an angle to each other and we sometimes run around the house in our underwear he should leave a little buffer zone otherwise he gets to see a couple of 60-70 year olds half naked. He stopped clearing. I still tease him about this every time I hear his chainsaw running.
