Was it a FedEx package or was that an Amazon driver? The last time I got a package by Amazon delivery the guy was driving his own beat up old car. I thought he might have been a sup cleaning up left packages. It was one that had been sitting there for a day or two and Amazon kept lying about service updates. I didn't care much other than to laugh since it wasn't something I needed right away.

I don’t do stairs at businesses other than to get in the door.
I just make my own rules. If the driveway or walkway aren't shoveled I don’t go down them. Period. If they want the package at the front door, do the work required to make sure I can get to that door safely. I can’t afford workman’s comp.
