We called them shop trucks. Ours were painted yellow though. That was how the last 400's and 600's ended up before finally being scrapped.

Only white package cars I saw ones that had been whitewashed after a wreck and were being towed somewhere. At one time they thought it looked bad for the public to see a disabled brown truck.

Back then they even washed the trucks too.

Our shop had a white P600 as well, but it wasn't licensed to travel on the road. They just used it in the yard.

We had white yard tractors. Probably white so they wouldn't end up on the road.
