You got me curious about buttermilk so I just looked it up. Buttermilk helps tenderize the chicken while keeping it juicy.Supposedly it improves the flavor a little, fancy restaurants soak the chicken in it overnight. We don't use buttermilk in my house, maybe a little salt, pepper, and a few other seasonings. My wife makes good chicken tenders, dips the chicken in an egg wash, and breads it with Italian seasoned bread crumbs instead of flour. Fried chicken isn't a difficult dish to make.
